Despite the financial challenges faced amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the compensation for chief legal officers at Georgia’s top public companies remained high in 2022, marking a continuation of the rebound seen the previous year. This information is based on data collected from the SEC filings of these companies by ALM Intelligence, a Daily Report affiliate. The financial data of a company’s top five executives, or as one in-house recruiter referred to them, “the all-stars” of the corporations, are disclosed in these filings.
As expressed by Bob Graff, an Atlanta-based in-house recruiter and partner with Major, Lindsey & Africa: “As in 2021, I think 2022 was also a great year financially for a lot of companies. The stock market did pretty well last year. It’s not surprising that people met or exceeded their bonus targets and met or exceeded their equity targets.” This is suggestive of a robust corporate sector in Georgia amidst the repercussions of the pandemic, with legal officers being a strong testament to that.
