Allen & Overy, a renowned global law firm, has initiated a new step in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by developing a tool to aid in drafting contracts. The tool, named ContractMatrix, was brought to fruition through a collaborative effort with technology giant Microsoft and Harvey. According to Allen & Overy, the tool is intended to be scaled up for use by clients and the wider market.
The efficiency and practicality of ContractMatrix have been tried and tested internally with over 1,000 of the firm’s lawyers already making use of it. Moreover, five clients have already agreed to terms for a January roll-out further validating the potential of the tool.
ContractMatrix seems to represent an ushering in of a new era of AI integration into law firms’ practices – a promising stride forward for technological innovation in the legal realm.
