The time has once again come for the venerable tradition of the annual holiday card contest, now in its 15th year. The eager anticipation felt across the legal profession is understandable as Hanukkah is here, Christmas is not far off, and everyone is ready to welcome in the New Year. Seven finalists have made the cut, but not before we acknowledge a few honorable mentions.
Among the honorable mentions are Armond Wilson’s quirky, Wes Anderson-inspired card sure to put a smile on your face, Diaz Trade Law’s festive card celebrating the unsung heroes of Christmas – the CBP lawyers, who unstintingly lend their services in freeing ships laden with presents at the border, and Patterson Belknap’s New York themed card focused on charitable work for the NYC’s Coalition for the Homeless and the Children’s Aid.
Selected from numerous entrants, the seven finalists of this year’s contest are remarkable in their creativity and topical themes. Here they are, listed in alphabetical order:
- Butler Snow’s humorous take on the chaos which might ensue if over 400 lawyers were engaged in drafting a holiday message.
- Davis Wright Tremaine’s beautiful video capture of landscape drawings in the snow created by a British “snow artist”, against the backdrop of a remote Alaskan lake.
- A “lighthearted take on generative AI tools” is the amusing theme of Faegre Drinker’s holiday card.
- Falcon Rappaport & Berkman’s innovative digital token holiday card.
- The exciting adventure of a Minnesota cast of characters on a road trip makes for a fun narrative on Larson • King’s holiday card.
- A hilarious compilation of New Year resolution’s from lawyers make up McBrayer’s holiday card.
- Rakower Law’s card ingeniously incorporates a Cameo appearance from renowned actor Kevin Pollack, paired with a charitable cause.
The voting is now open through SUNDAY, DECEMBER 31, 2021, at 11:00 p.m. (Eastern time). So, make sure to cast your vote for your favorite holiday card. Visit this link to vote.
