Bloomberg Law Seeks Nominations for 2024 “They’ve Got Next: The 40 Under 40” Report

Following the success of previous editions, Bloomberg Law has once again announced a call for nominations for the 2024 edition of “They’ve Got Next: The 40 Under 40”. This noteworthy report is aimed at recognizing the accomplishments and potential of young lawyers nationwide, shedding light on upcoming legal prodigies who are working tirelessly to bring about a positive impact within the legal industry in the United States.

Lawyers who meet the age requirement of being 40 or under till July 1, 2024 and are engaged in full-time legal practice at a US-based law firm, company, government agency, non-profit or university are eligible to be nominated or self-nominated for this special report. Lawyers who are working abroad for US-based law firms are also encouraged to apply. Past editions of the report, spotlighting the next generation of high-performing legal leaders from 2021, 2022, and 2023 can be found here, here, and here.

The criteria for successful candidates include, but are not limited to:

  • Earning the respect of more senior team members by establishing early ownership of key roles in client matters
  • Exhibiting leadership skills in workplaces and communities
  • Backing diversity and inclusion efforts within their firms and organizations.
  • Incorporating innovative methods of legal practice and displaying thought leadership prowess

Apart from the age and practice requirement, the nomination requirements include a short biography, an essay demonstrating the nominee’s qualifications for the award, two letters of recommendation, a professional photo, and answers to four related questions.

The final date for sending in nominations is March 18, 2024 by 8:00 p.m. EST. All nominations must be sent to Submissions@bloombergindustry.com. Any incomplete nominations or those received after the deadline will not be considered. Bloomberg’s team of editors will then select the final 40 young lawyers to honor.
