Former Ohio Prosecutor Suspended for Violating Justice Department’s Sexual Harassment Policy

Mark Bennett, a former assistant U.S. attorney from Ohio has been suspended after being found in violation of the U.S. Department of Justice’s sexual harrassment policy. The violation constituted inappropriate messages and unwelcomed physical behavior towards an intern at his office. The official documents detail the sanctions imposed on Bennett.

The Ohio Supreme Court agreed to a two-year suspension for the attorney, with the caveat he must continue with his imposed disciplinary provisions. Despite Bennett’s claim that his power was “not inconsequential”, as he did not have the ability to hire or fire the intern, the Ohio Board of Professional Conduct upheld the suspension.
