As the legal world rings in a new year, two renowned Am Law 200 firms, Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton and Armstrong Teasdale, are entering 2024 under fresh leadership. Both firms announced the appointment of new managing partners.
At Sheppard Mullin, Robert Beall stepped down as the managing partner after an impressive 18-year tenure, making way for equity partner Kevin Cloutier. Cloutier, a Chicago-based employment partner, has now assumed the reins and will lead the firm into the new year. Accompanying this transition, Beall has moved into the newly crafted role of special projects manager. Cloutier did not detail the specifics of what the role will entail.
Armstrong Teasdale is also embarking on a new chapter with Richard Engel at the helm. The St. Louis-founded firm has appointed Engel, a corporate partner, as the latest managing partner as they usher in 2024.
