Beijing-based JunHe, an esteemed domestic practice in China, is marking its presence on U.S soil with a new office in Seattle, adding to its international office count, all of which are in the U.S. The new office will be headed by corporate partner Adam Li, knowledgeable in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and outbound investments, and recognized in mainland China, Washington D.C. and New York.Read More

The Seattle branch will concentrate on entrepreneurial business and legal needs, according to JunHe’s managing partner, Warren Hua. The firm’s expanded focus is influenced significantly by global brands such as Boeing, Starbucks, Costco, Microsoft, and Amazon, which are based in Seattle. The intention is to target the growing demographic of companies in this region.

However, Warren states, the firm’s focus goes beyond Seattle, alluding to further U.S expansion along the West Coast’s entrepreneurial and tech-focused landscape. JunHe intends to serve Asian clients, especially those in the tech sector or considering U.S investment and growth, while continuing consultations on Chinese law.

The growth and size of the Seattle office will hinge on its West Coast performance, contingent on multiple factors. Established as one of China’s longest-running law firms, JunHe is held in high regard, bagging the 168th Global 200 position by gross revenue for bringing in over $315 million in 2022. It boasts over 700 lawyers across its 13 global offices in mainland China and the U.S.

With recent geopolitical tensions between the U.S. and China, law firm leaders like those at Han Kun Law Offices and Hylands Law Firm are capitalizing on the opportunity for international expansion. JunHe’s move to Seattle furthers its international strategy amidst these tensions, demonstrating the instrumental role of attorneys in bridging trade gaps and ensuring compliance.
