Perkins Coie, one of the highly reputable law firms in the world, announced major changes in their Chicago office leadership. The firm announced Jose Lopez as the newly appointed office managing partner in Chicago.
Lopez, who had been serving as a partner in the securities litigation practice, will now be in charge of a considerably large office that houses more than 235 lawyers and business professionals. This marks a major step in his career within Perkins Coie.
The long-term office managing partner, Rick Sevcik, left his position which is now filled by Lopez. However, Sevcik is not parting ways with the firm, instead, he will be carrying on his tax, benefits, and compensation practice within Perkins Coie.
This managerial shift might alter the internal dynamics within the firm and set new guiding principles for the Chicago office. Lopez’s appointment shows Perkins Coie’s confidence in his leadership abilities and his expertise in the field.
