Bestselling author and Columbia Law graduate, Brad Meltzer, recently launched a new children’s book titled
“I am Ruth Bader Ginsburg”, celebrating the life and legal legacy of the late Supreme Court justice. Drawing from personal experiences with Justice Ginsburg, Meltzer adds this exciting new addition to his “I am” book series which has so far produced 32 books over the last decade.
The book delves into the real-life story of Justice Ginsburg, focusing on how she utilized the law to influence society and shape her highly influential career. Meltzer shares that one of the main motivations behind this particular character selection was to educate children on the importance of using law as a tool for justice, mirroring themes seen in his former books “I am Martin Luther King, Jr.” and “I am John Lewis”.
His series aims to instill in young readers values such as character, kindness, and compassion by showcasing true heroes and their life stories. Meltzer, together with his law-treading spouse, admits use of this platform as a way of teaching their children about perseverance and how to fight for justice, hence this fascinating publication doubling as an insightful read for lawyer parents as well.
