Global law firm King & Spalding has re-elected Robert Hays to serve as its chair for a seventh term, as reported by Bloomberg Law.
Hays, who has steered the firm since 2006, has helped transform it from a regional operation with just five offices into a globally recognized entity with 1,300 lawyers spread across 23 offices worldwide. During his tenure, the firm’s revenue has experienced significant growth, more than tripling to reach $2.02 billion in 2022. Profits per partner also escalated from $1.3 million in 2006 to $4.7 million.
Zach Fardon of the firm’s policy committee praised Hays’ leadership, citing it as crucial to the firm’s success. He indicated that Hays’ reelection underscores his clear vision and unwavering commitment to the advancement of the firm and all of its personnel.
Hays’ new three-year term officially began on January 1. Hays, commenting on the firm’s achievements, emphasized that the success mirrors the collective determination and commitment of the team.
In a testament to its international growth strategy, King & Spalding has recently established new offices in Denver and Miami, and obtained a foreign law license in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
