Legal professionals would probably be well aware by now that Marc Mukasey, a former federal prosecutor, has recently added a new name partner to his New York trial boutique – the firm is now Mukasey Young.
As reported by Bloomberg Law, Young replaces outgoing co-founder Robert Frenchman, and brings with her notable credentials in the legal fraternity. In an interview, Mukasey expressed his belief in Young’s capabilities, describing her as being amongst the “strongest class of lawyers” he’s worked with.
This change signals a shift in administrative duties for Torrey Young. While she continues with her existing practice, she’ll also be managing an increased load of the firm’s administrative tasks. An expansion of the firm’s health care practice is amongst the objectives she hopes to achieve in her position.
Mukasey has a history of representing prominent clients, which include Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of FTX, and Trevor Milton, the founder of Nikola Corp. He’s currently part of the legal team that’s defending Fleet New York Metropolitan Regional Center against charges of defrauding investors of over $229 million, as alleged by the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Co-counseling with Young, Mukasey is also defending the Celsius Network founder, Alexander Mashinsky, in an alleged crypto fraud criminal case in the US District Court in the Southern District of New York.
Young, on the other hand, is defending Aztech Mountain LLC, a performance sportswear company, in a suit claiming failure to make its website accessible to blind or visually impaired individuals.
Robert Frenchman, the co-founder being replaced by Young, said that he had achieved his dream of building a high-level boutique firm with eminent clients. His future plans, however, are as yet unannounced. The global legal community will be waiting with bated breath to see where his journey leads him next.
