Former U.S. Federal Prosecutor, Justin P. Murphy, has recently taken up his new role at BakerHostetler as a partner. As reported by Bloomberg, his appointment sees him joining the firm’s litigation practice group, additionally contributing to the antitrust and competition team at the Washington office.
Of significant note, Murphy is set to lead the cartel and government antitrust investigations task force at BakerHostetler. His responsibilities extend to guiding and counseling both corporate and individual clients in antitrust and fraud matters which are subject to government enforcement. This also includes participation in white collar criminal and related civil matters.
Mr. Murphy’s tenure as a trial attorney for the Justice Department’s criminal antitrust division provides him with valuable experiential insight. His specialized knowledge in the investigation of procurement fraud, wire fraud, mail fraud, and obstruction matters adds considerable value to the firm and the clients they serve. With the integration of Murphy’s expertise, the BakerHostetler team deepens their capability significantly, enhancing their ability to provide high-level counsel in increasingly complex and major antitrust and competition legal contexts.
