A protracted 10-year legal case has resulted in Holland & Knight amassing $6.7 million in legal fees. The dispute involved Florida entities that contested a lower court ruling, an appeal which was led by Morgan & Morgan’s Business Trial Group attorney, Benjamin Webster and colleague Damien Prosser. “We obtained a verdict against one of the defendants, and filed the appeal because we believe the other defendant should have been held accountable as well,” Webster was quoted as saying in the Daily Business Review.
Despite the decision being in conflict with their position, the attorneys have stated their respect for the court’s decision. Ed Ramos, a partner at Holland & Knight, emphasized the complexity of the case by noting the challenges they faced due to representing a sovereign.
