Proskauer Rose, a renowned international law firm, announced the election of Timothy Mungovan as its new chair. Mungovan, who is the current chair of the firm’s securities litigation group, will officially assume his new role in April 2024.
Mungovan takes over from Steven Ellis, who revealed last December that he would prematurely end his tenure due to health issues. In a statement, Mungovan expressed gratitude for the trust his partners have put in him and acknowledged the significant contributions of his predecessor, Steven Ellis.
Since Ellis assumed the firm’s chair in January 2020, Proskauer experienced impressive growth from $989 million to $1.24 billion in gross revenue as reported by the American Lawyer. Ellis, joined Proskauer in 2004 and instrumental in the development of the firm’s private credit group.
Expressing confidence in his successor, Ellis stated that he has no doubt that Timothy will propel Proskauer to greater heights. It will continue to attract high calibre talent and serve clients worldwide under the new leadership.
