Atlanta’s vibrant legal community is once again poised for new leadership as the Atlanta Judicial Commission opens nominations for the position of Municipal Court Judge for the City of Atlanta Municipal Court. The best and the brightest of the area’s legal professionals are now invited to take part in this influential process.
The Atlanta Judicial Commission, under the esteemed chairmanship of Von A. DuBose, Esq., announced that it is now accepting nominations for the prestigious position. Atlanta’s local citizens and Bar members are invited to nominate themselves or others for this critical role. The deadline for written nominations has been set for February 10, 2024.
All potential nominees must meet certain criteria before their names go under consideration. An eligible candidate must be at least 25 years old, be a resident of the City of Atlanta for at least one year prior to appointment, and have a solid history of law practice in the State of Georgia for a minimum of five years. To ensure transparency, the list of nominees will be made publicly available upon request.
Further details on the nomination process were provided by the Commission, which discourages the use of general endorsement letter-writing campaigns in support of a nominee. The Commission instead urges organizations and persons familiar with the qualification, experience, and ability of a nominee to communicate directly with the Commission.
While established professionals continue their respected practices, rising stars are given an opportunity to step into bigger roles, shaping the future of legal practice in the City of Atlanta.
