Dean Developments Newsletter Launched Amid Atlanta Judicial Commission’s Call for Nominations

In the ever-evolving legal industry, a new newsletter has been launched to provide the latest news on law deans, with Dean Developments being introduced to specifically cater to this niche audience.

The Atlanta Judicial Commission is concurrently inviting nominations for the post of Municipal Court Judge for the City of Atlanta Municipal Court. Candidates, who must be over 25 years of age, will need to have been practicing law in Georgia for at least five years, and be residents of Atlanta for a minimum of one year prior to their appointment.

Interested members of the bar may even submit their own nominations, and the commission is also welcoming submissions from the general public. The deadline for these written nominations is February 10, 2024. Details of the nominees are open to the public and can be requested from the commission.

Chair of the Commission, Von A. DuBose, Esq., shared that any communication regarding a nomination, including endorsements, should be shared with all commission members. While the commission appreciates input about the qualifications, experience, and abilities of nominees, it discourages general endorsement letter-writing campaigns.

As the landscape of legal leadership roles continues to change, resources such as ‘Dean Developments’ will prove valuable in staying informed. Meanwhile, the participative approach of the Atlanta Judicial Commission in the selection process of its Municipal Court Judge reflects the democratization happening in legal practices, further driving the industry’s evolution.
