In a stunning reveal, high-profile attorney Roberta Kaplan, has shared some fascinating insights into her court encounter with former president, Donald Trump. This sharing comes on the back of securing an impressive $88+ million payday for her client.
Kaplan made her comments during an episode of George Conway’s podcast, where she not only discussed her handling of E. Jean Carroll’s defamation lawsuit against Trump but also other related experiences. Among the most gripping was the account of a deposition involving Trump at Mar-a-Lago in connection with an allegedly fraudulent marketing company.
During this deposition, Kaplan recounted an incident where Trump’s behaviour resembled that of a petulant child when his legal team extended the usual courtesy of providing lunch for the opposing counsel. Kaplan informed that Trump caused quite a stir over it, resorting to throwing papers, storming out of the room and yelling at his attorney Alina Habba.
More remarkable, however, was the way Trump addressed Kaplan. He apparently referred to her as a “see you next Tuesday,” a phrase which, as many are aware, is a euphemism for a misogynistic slur. Kaplan shared her reaction to this in a later interview with CNN.
Kaplan admitted she was initially unaware of the hidden insult, thinking it was a joke among teenage boys. Once she was informed of the actual meaning by her colleagues, she was grateful for her ignorance at that moment, otherwise, her anger might have gotten better of her.
Such a revelation casts a poignant light on one of the most powerful men in the world. It is a valuable insight into the tactics suspected to avoid a confrontation with the formidable Kaplan.
