A number of major US law firms are advising on a pharmaceutical deal worth $16.5 billion. The acquisition involves the holding company of Novo Nordisk, makers of the well-known anti-obesity drug Wegovy, acquiring the American pharmaceutical manufacturer Catalent.
Three firms, listed within the top twenty as per revenue in the Global 200, are at the heart of the deal. Goodwin Procter is representing Novo Holdings, based in Denmark; Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom are acting on behalf of the New Jersey-based Catalent; and Jones Day represents the board of directors of Catalent. Additionally, Davis Polk & Wardwell is advising Novo Nordisk on a subsequent deal to expand their manufacturing capabilities.
