Former FERC Chairman James Danly Rejoins Skadden as Head of Energy Regulatory Group

James Danly, former commissioner, chairman, and general counsel of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, has returned to Skadden, taking the role of partner and head of the energy regulatory group in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, Skadden announced on Tuesday.

In his new position at Skadden, Danly will handle various legal matters that span federal and state regulatory proceedings, M&A transactions, policy issues, as well as enforcement and litigation cases.

Danly’s history with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission included roles that put him in commissioner, chairman, and general counsel seats. The rehiring of such an experienced professional with multi-faceted experience in both federal agencies and law firms signifies Skadden’s commitment to bolstering their expertise in energy regulatory matters.
