Renowned law firm, Shook, Hardy & Bacon, has recently initiated a comprehensive diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) counselling, compliance, and disputes practice. This initiative, under the leadership of John Lewis Jr., aims to aid clients in navigating the complex legal landscapes associated with DEI issues.
Lewis, the office managing partner for the firm’s Houston establishment, brings with him vast experience, including an impressive tenure as the previous chief litigation counsel at The Coca-Cola Co. During his time at Coca-Cola, Lewis not only founded but also managed the company’s legal division diversity counsel.
The launch of this practice comes in response to a growing need from clients as recent sociopolitical shifts have led to an increase in anti-DEI sentiment. Lewis’s expertise will be crucial in addressing this, and his leadership is expected to set a strong foundation for the new arm of the firm.
