Haiwen & Partners Bolsters Team with Another Hire from Linklaters’ China Affiliate

Haiwen & Partners has fortified their team yet again with the acquisition of a former partner from Linklaters’ Chinese branch, Zhao Sheng Law Firm. The newly hired, Beijing-based M&A lawyer, Benran Huang, has a rich history within the legal field. In 2019, Huang joined Zhao Sheng as an associate and quickly ascended to the role of partner within a year. The report from Law.com International Edition explained that prior to his stint at Zhao Sheng, Huang served at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison for two years, and before that, at Linklaters for over four years.

It is also noteworthy that this is not the first time Haiwen & Partners has turned to Zhao Sheng to recruit new talent. The firm recently appointed Zhao Sheng’s ex-managing partner, Eric Liu. These repeated hires indicate a strategy of leveraging the experience and skills of lawyers shaped by the high-level practice environment at Zhao Sheng.

As for the observers of global legal industry dynamics, it will indeed be interesting to follow how these strategic personnel moves by Haiwen & Partners will influence its position in the competitive Chinese legal market.
