Donald Trump’s attorney recently filed phone records in a Georgia court, implying that Fulton County District Attorney, Fani Willis, and her hired attorney, Nathan Wade, were consistently communicating throughout 2021. This timeline suggests discrepancies since both Wade and Willis testified previously that they didn’t begin a relationship until 2022.
According to a Bloomberg Government report, Trump’s documentation revealed that Willis and Wade exchanged approximately 12,000 text messages and held almost 2,000 phone conversations during the first 11 months of 2021. These communications occurred in the context of Trump facing an election-interference prosecution led by Willis and Wade.
Trump’s legal team is leveraging this evidence as part of an ongoing effort to disqualify the Georgia prosecutors from his case. Defence investigator Charles Mittelstadt, who was supposedly hired by Trump’s camp, claimed in an affidavit that he obtained Wade’s cell phone records through a subpoena.
Nathan Wade’s attorney also seeks to prevent his client from being interviewed by the presiding judge, further complicating this high-stakes legal drama.
The disclosure of these extensive communications between Willis and Wade represents yet another unexpected twist in the legal challenges surrounding the former president. It also raises serious questions about transparency, propriety, and the potential conflict of interest within the Georgia prosecution team.
