In a recent development involving major legal firms, Germany-based private equity partner Nils Röver is transitioning from Latham & Watkins’s Frankfurt office to become a part of Willkie Farr & Gallagher’s newly established Munich branch. More details here.
This strategic addition is a continuation of New York-based Willkie’s expansion strategy in Germany. The firm has seen considerable growth in the region over the past four years, currently boasting about 85 attorneys, a threefold increase from earlier figures.
Announced earlier in February, Willkie’s plans of opening a new office in Munich involved relocating about 20 lawyers from its Frankfurt location. With an objective of further fortifying its presence in Munich, the firm also plans to undertake several new hires for the fresh setup.
The recruitment of Röver can thus be seen as a part of Willkie’s broader expansion efforts in the dynamic European legal market, specifically Germany. It is apparent to industry observers that this move complements the firm’s strategy of augmenting its legal prowess and optimizing resource allocation within its extended network of offices in the region.
