Jacksonville University Law School Secures Provisional ABA Accreditation

In a significant development in the field of legal education, Jacksonville University College of Law was granted provisional accreditation by the American Bar Association (ABA) on February 29. This achievement comes just a year after the university’s Board of Trustees unanimously endorsed the launch of the law program.

The law school, which welcomed its inaugural class in 2022, had initially submitted its application for the ABA accreditation back in March 2023. Since then, it has registered an acceptance of 26 J.D. students out of an applicant pool of 171 for its fall semester. Currently, the law college boasts eight full-time professors along with one part-time faculty member, as indicated by its
509 report.

This recent provisional accreditation by the ABA underscores Jacksonville University Law’s dedication toward ensuring the highest standards of legal education. As iterated by the university, achieving provisional accreditation for their first graduating class had been a stated priority.
