Ari Kaplan Advisors addressing the subject of “Leadership, Growth, and Profitability in the Post-Pandemic Era,” various important insights have been revealed regarding how modern law firms are managing and prospering through digital transformation.
The main focus of the report is on different aspects of legal technology, the significance of technology adoption throughout training, the role of automation and document management in digital transformation, and how large and small law firms tap into data to create a competitive edge. The survey-based report presents the point of view of 18 chief operating officers, ten executive directors, one chief executive officer, and one chief administrative officer from big law firms averaging 140 professionals and 73 lawyers.

Among the notable findings, 90% of the participants agreed that legal technology aids in increasing the revenue of their firms and a significant amount agreed that reliable, timely data can give a competitive edge. Additionally, appropriately 70% agreed that legal technology triggered the growth of their law firms, while many others emphasized a changing skill set needed for law firm leaders.
The research uncovered that modern law firm leaders must skillfully balance tradition while promoting change to tackle dynamic technological progress, generational shifts, and intricate business dynamics. The importance of possessing sweeping business acumen, including a solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting, and financial forecasting, was also highlighted.
Recognizing the potential growth areas, the surveyed leaders emphasized that law firms offering quality legal work that exceeds client expectations and provides value could truly define their success in the current economy. Many areas of opportunity today were brought forward throughout the report, with a strong emphasis on strategic management and adoption of technology.
Strong alignment of data, profitability, and metrics is driving the success of law firms, according to the study. The report validates the importance of data-driven approaches for using technology, tracking KPIs, budgeting, and developing artificial intelligence strategies in law firms.
