Prominent Philadelphia Attorneys Duel in Legal Battle Over Settlement Fees and Fraud Allegations

The escalating feud between two high-profile Philadelphia plaintiff attorneys, Thomas Duffy Jr. and Kenneth Fulginiti, took a new twist recently as they initiated legal action against each other over withheld settlement fees and alleged fraud.

Duffy’s newest salvo is an accusation leveled against his former partner Fulginiti, alleging that Fulginiti withheld settlement fees from cases that had been settled prior to Fulginiti’s resignation on February 9. This allegation comes barely a week after Fulginiti had himself leveled accusations of fraud against Duffy.

The roots of this feud trace back to the period preceding Fulginiti’s exit from Duffy + Fulginiti, when, according to Duffy’s claim, Fulginiti had induced clients to abandon the firm and accompany him to his new undertaking, Fulginiti Law.

In an interesting turn of events, the allegation of fraud against Duffy was subsequently withdrawn by Fulginiti just a day after its filing, ramping up the unpredictability of this ongoing fracas between these prominent law practitioners from Philadelphia.
