Dominion Lawsuit Developments: From Protected Discovery to Unexpected Legal Surprises

In a peculiar turn of events, the lawsuit led by Dominion Voting Systems against numerous individuals, including former Overstock.com CEO Patrick Byrne, Sidney Powell, Rudy Giuliani, and Mike Lindell, continues to encounter unanticipated surprises. These individuals made defamatory claims against Dominion following the 2020 elections.

On March 12, an email was sent to Judge Carl Nichols highlighting that protected discovery material from this civil case was identified in a criminal case involving Stefanie Lambert Junttila, who had been assisting in this litigation as attorney for Patrick Byrne.

Stefanie Lambert Junttila is a Michigan lawyer who was among a group that was sanctioned by Judge Linda Parker in 2021 for the filing of patently absurd affidavits in the notorious “Kraken” lawsuit that aimed to overturn President Biden’s victory. Remarkably, she is currently being sued by a cyberforensics expert, has recently been charged by a special counsel in Michigan, and has an active warrant.

When Byrne swapped Lambert Junttila out for his lawyers from McGlinchey Stafford, things took a detour into more complexity. With the ongoing legal implications around this case, there is potential for more surprises along the way.

Additional noteworthy developments include Mike Lindell first filing a counterclaim in Minnesota to dismiss the DC case, interpleading Dominion’s direct competitor Smartmatic, and then refusing to cooperate with discovery for several months.
