In an announcement released Thursday, legal firm McDermott Will & Emery confirmed the addition of seven highly skilled white-collar litigators to their team. The fresh recruits were previously part of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe and their induction signifies McDermott’s strategic investment in expanding its white collar litigation group.
Over the previous year, McDermott’s white collar litigation group saw a significant growth of 34% and the firm has projected further work in this sector. “We see momentum on the horizon for FCPA matters and government investigations, and we’re scaling our practice to leverage these opportunities,” stated Michael Poulos, partner in charge of the firm strategy.
The seven-member group joining McDermott includes New York partners Guy Singer, Franklin Monsour Jr., Kelly Newsome and Washington partners Anne Murray, Caitlin Sheard, and Sagar Ravi. Guy Singer, who spearheaded Orrick’s Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) practice, and Sagar Ravi, the former chief of complex frauds and cybercrime unit at the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, are notable members of the team.
With reference to his team’s move, Guy Singer said, “McDermott’s culture of collaboration is the perfect platform for me and my team.” This move sets McDermott in a strong position to tackle forthcoming opportunities in the white collar litigation sector, marking an important stride for the firm.
