In 2023, Mayer Brown, an established law firm known for its core practices in financial services, regulatory and restructuring, made substantial progress towards the $2 billion mark, showing a revenue increase of 2.7% that brought them close to $1.91 billion. The firm’s chairman Jon Van Gorp hailed the law venture in Singapore launched the previous year as significant and drew attention to the strong performance of the firm’s branches in London, Paris and Brazil [The American Lawyer].
An 8.2% decrease in equity partners seemingly contributed to a 4.4% increase in the firm’s profits per equity partner, which rose to approximately $2.44 million. However, the overall net income for all equity partners saw a decline of 4.2%, falling to $621 million.
