Ashurst Boosts Digital Economy Expertise with IP Partner Hire in Munich

Ashurst is set to expand its digital economy and dispute resolution practice in Germany with the addition of intellectual property partner, Roman Brtka. Brtka, who will officially join Ashurst’s Munich office on April 1, leaves behind Bird & Bird, where he has spent not only the last 14 years but also his last three in a partnership role.

With a strong record in advising clients on issues related to trademark, design, competition and copyright law, Brtka brings a wealth of experience to the table. His clients span various sectors including automotive, telecommunications, media, and sports. Of particular note is his experience in advising on market entries into the European Union and on marketing campaigns related to ESG, green advertising, and labelling.

The move follows similar recent hiring actions by other law firms in Germany such as Morgan Lewis, Skadden, and Ogletree Deakins. The expansion of Ashurst further underscores the growing importance of intellectual property law in the digital economy. (Read more)
