ILTA Honors Five Lawyers as Influential Women in Legal Tech for 2024

The International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) has honored five prominent figures in the global legal technology sector as 2024 Influential Women in Legal Tech. These honorees have been celebrated for their meaningful mentoring roles and their significant impacts on the industry. This is the first time in the award’s history that all the winners are lawyers which represent five different countries across three continents, a fact proudly acknowledged by ILTA’s CEO, Joy Heath Rush.

The winners emerged from a pool of over 120 nominations and 80 applications. The 2024 Influential Women in Legal Tech are:

  1. Alma Asay, Chief Innovation and Value Officer at Crowell & Moring LLP, is celebrated for her work in legal innovation, bridging gaps for successful innovation, overseeing a wide range of initiatives and her advocacy activity in the sector.
  2. Aalia Manie, leading the Webber Wentzel Fusion at Webber Wentzel, combines her law background with her zeal for technological advancement. Aalia has initiated lobbying efforts for regulatory reforms and established an incubator for high-growth tech businesses.
  3. Terri Mottershead, is the Executive Director of the Centre for Legal Innovation at the College of Law. She oversees international collaborations helping legal businesses innovate and deliver client-oriented solutions, and leads several of CLI’s global initiatives.
  4. Caryn Sandler, Partner + Chief Knowledge and Innovation Officer at Gilbert + Tobin, is honored for leading the firm’s Legal Service Innovation team and G+T Innovate. Under her leadership, the firm was recognized for its excellence in technology and innovation at international forums.
  5. Finally, Ginevra Saylor, National Director of Innovation and Knowledge at Gowling WLG LLP, is experienced in delivering strategies for innovation, knowledge management, client solutions, technology adoption, and process improvement. She was honored for her contributions to ILTA previously as the President of the board of directors.

These outstanding awardees have not only thrived in their roles as lawyers but also cracked the innovation code that is revolutionizing the legal space. From founding start-ups to leading innovation in top law firms, their work in bridging law and technology serves as a beacon for the industry.
