Navigating the Shift to Hybrid and Virtual Models in the Legal Landscape

As the world continues to adapt to the post-pandemic conditions, the legal landscape is witnessing a shift in its traditional operation models. Law firms are increasingly inclining towards hybrid or fully virtual models – a trend that was once a rarity. Foundation Law Group, a Los Angeles-based firm, was among the early adopters of this new norm, having embraced a fully virtual setup as early as 2013.

The past ten years of successful operation and growth have demonstrated the advantages of this model, both to the firm and its clients. Today, the firm boasts a roster of 15 partners and plans to expand further, adding more partners and practice areas in the near future. Armen Martin, the CEO and co-founder of Foundation Law Group, acknowledged that while traditional law firms have expressed concerns about the hybrid or virtual models, the benefits for both lawyers and clients are compelling.

Transitioning to these new modes of operation has, however, not been without its challenges. Firms navigating the waters of hybrid and virtual models have encountered hurdles in their journey, as highlighted by the experiences of many firms. These operational changes have not always been seamless.

As the legal industry forges into this uncharted territory, the adaptation to and the evolution of these models can be expected to continue shaping the legal business environments. Meanwhile, the fully virtual model continues to be a considerable advantage for Foundation Law Group in the battle for talent acquisition in the market.
