Apple’s Antitrust Struggles Multiply: Class Actions and DOJ Accuse Tech Giant of Market Monopolization

The U.S. Department of Justice has accused Apple Inc. of obstructive behavior towards their competitors, hindering access to the iPhone’s software and hardware features. This antitrust action is not the only one that the tech giant is facing currently. There have also been two class actions lodged against Apple in the Northern District of California, as well as one in the District of New Jersey. These suits parallel the Justice Department’s stance that the company is hindering other software developers’ ability to create products for iPhone users. Full story here.

Emulating the U.S. Justice Department suit, these consumer class actions allege that Apple engages in exclusionary conduct to shut competitors out of the markets for revenue in areas such as its App Store, Apple Pay and music streaming.
