FTC to Investigate Supply Chain Disruptions Impact on Small Grocery Stores

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has declared its intent to investigate the damaging impact of supply chain disruptions on smaller grocery stores. This move is indicative of a strengthening approach towards securing market competition given the growing monopolization trends observed in the retail sector.

FTC Chair Lina Khan expressed the Commission’s readiness to enforce antitrust laws if the ongoing investigation confirms anticompetitive practices as a root cause for such supply chain disruptions.. “If we end up finding that these types of practices violate any of the antitrust laws…” she said, “…I know I’ll be very interested in making sure we take swift action”.
