Hahnemann University Hospital Settles $32M Hypoxic Brain Injury Lawsuit

A significant settlement of $32 million has been agreed over an infant’s hypoxic brain injury. The lawsuit was filed by the child’s parents against Hahnemann University Hospital. The parents claimed that the hospital was delayed in performing a cesarean section despite clear signs that the child was in distress. This alleged delay ultimately resulted in severe, lifelong brain damage to the infant.

The suit was brought before retired New Jersey Superior Court Judge, Joseph P. Quinn, who served for 23 years across the Civil, Chancery, and Family Divisions. He is well known for his strong support of mediation and alternate dispute resolution. Judge Quinn currently heads the mediation practice at Ansell Grimm & Aaron, PC.
