Middle East Legal Market Expands: Global Firms Bolster Regional Presence

In a rather substantial development, Trowers & Hamlins, the well-known international law firm, is expanding its real estate presence in the United Arab Emirates. Complementing these strategic moves in the region, Al Tamimi & Co, the largest law firm in the Middle East, has appointed a new head for its banking practice in Egypt. To top off these shifts, other global law firms including Stephenson Harwood and Ashurst, are bolstering their regional forces with additional partner inclusions. More details available here.

It’s interesting to note that this escalation in legal business operations in the Middle East isn’t a solitary observation. The region has been a magnet for global law firms looking to build and expand their portfolios. Only time will tell which new firms will join this dynamic landscape and how these recent moves will impact the legal market in the Middle East.

In an unrelated development, it’s worth highlighting that the New Jersey Superior Court’s retired Judge Joseph P. Quinn is set to head Ansell.Law’s mediation practice. Judge Quinn, who was a firm advocate of mediation and alternate dispute resolution during his 23-year tenure, is expected to bring his expertise to help disputing parties find efficient and final resolutions to their conflicts.
