Paul Chow, an established name in the legal market, spent over 15 years as a partner at top-tier law firms around the world. Private practice, however, was never his long-term goal. Early in his career, Chow, who is based in Hong Kong, served as a partner at UK-based Linklaters and Slaughter and May. In 2011, he moved to Davis Polk & Wardwell, a place where he spent near a decade advising on some of China’s largest listings and most significant mergers and acquisitions.
As a former Big Law partner, Chow currently oversees the core of Hong Kong’s financial center, a position that may have large implications for Greater China’s economic future. Given the pivotal role Hong Kong plays in the economic tapestry of Greater China, Chow’s experience and influence are likely to shape the future direction of the region’s legal market.
