After years of budget constraints impacting the job market for privacy professionals, we are now witnessing a surge in demand, particularly for privacy lawyers. This finding comes from a revealing new study by Tru Staffing Partners.
According to the research, privacy lawyers made up over a third of all hires in the privacy field last year alone – a formidable 35%. Astonishingly, no other privacy job category came close. The role of program manager/director trailed at second position, making up 23% of the pool.
The increased demand for privacy lawyers is hardly surprising given the current regulatory landscape. Technology is swiftly advancing, and regulations are racing to keep pace. Legal professionals expert in AI-adjacent spaces such as privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory affairs are becoming more and more crucial, as pointed out by Anna Gorodetsky of Major, Lindsey & Africa.
