In 2020, international law firm Walker Morris fired an attorney known as BL for gross misconduct. However, in 2023, the company started to receive threatening messages from the estranged lawyer disrupting the peace within the organization.
According to an alarming report from Roll on Friday, one of the messages from BL conveyed a stern warning to his former colleagues. It claimed that violence from him was inevitable and the only consideration left was to ensure it affected the right person and their family. The threats did not stop despite the issue being reported to the police.
Disconcertingly, BL went on the offensive, reaching out to the children of Walker Morris lawyers. He accused them of being accomplices in a seemingly unfounded conspiracy. Furthermore, he sent a threatening message to a young woman linked to a senior attorney at Walker Morris. The pattern of messages insinuated that she and her father were responsible for allegedly hacking his phone and driving him out of the legal profession.
Even after the firm obtained an injunction to bar BL from sending these intimidating messages, his campaign of harassment persisted. Alarmingly, just before the hearing, he brazenly sent an email to a Walker Morris leader and other staff members, challenging them even further.
The firm has taken these threats seriously and focused its efforts on ensuring the safety of its employees. An official statement by a spokesperson from the firm revealed that the situation required them to radio in police assistance and obtain an injunction. The measures were deemed necessary due to the discontinued professional’s continuous threatening actions. However, the details of the ongoing police investigation and any impending litigation proceedings could not be disclosed further.
