Miami’s Rising Stature in International Arbitration Challenging New York Dominance

In recent years, Miami’s stature as an esteemed hub for international arbitration has been increasingly recognized. It has remained competitive with New York, a long-time leader in the space, in terms of the volume of international arbitration cases seated. The American Arbitration Association reported 91 cases seated in Miami in 2023, placing it not far behind New York, which hosted 121 cases according to the Daily Business Review.

Despite overtaking New York only once, in 2021, Miami has visibly strengthened its position in this field. The continued prominence of Miami in international dispute resolution reflects favorably on local law firms, reinforcing their commitment to the practice and indicating a potential expansion in the future.
