2023 was a mixed bag in terms of revenue for Big Law firms originating from Missouri. A handful of these firms showed a decrease in their top-line performance, while others displayed an impressive double-digit growth. Despite this, most of the larger firms with established links to Missouri either maintained or increased their standing in the recent Am Law 100 rankings. Additionally, on a per-lawyer basis, an average growth in profits and revenue was observed.
This variety in performance did not dampen their expansion plans. Most of these law firms are looking forward to growing their footprint, with specific interest in the Southeast and West Coast markets.
These findings were summarized from an analysis of the nine Am Law 200 firms from Missouri. The majority of these firms experienced gains in revenue, RPL (Revenue Per Lawyer), and average profits per equity partner last year.
