TikTok General Counsel Resigns to Focus on Defending App Against Looming US Ban

TikTok, the remarkably popular social media app, confirmed last Friday that its General Counsel, Erich Andersen, has taken a step back from his role which he’s held for four years. Andersen’s departure was prompted by the pressing need to head off a new U.S. federal law. This law, if unchecked, will ban TikTok in the U.S. unless its Chinese owners sell their stake within the coming year.

Andersen, a U.S. based legal expert who has spent more than two decades at Microsoft before joining TikTok, labeled his decision to step down as “difficult”. The aim of his resignation is to intensify the company’s fight against the impending ban. Andersen’s experience and expertise, combined with his dedicated focus, will be pivotal in TikTok’s looming legal battle. Information about this news can be obtained from the following link.
