Attorneys from top law firms, Greenberg Traurig, the National Jewish Advocacy Center, Schoen Law Firm, and Holtzman Vogel have filed a lawsuit on behalf of victims from the Hamas attack on Israel, which took place on October 7th. They accuse groups such as AJP Educational Foundation, American Muslims for Palestine, and National Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP) of serving as the propaganda division of Hamas, a Foreign Terrorist Organization, as designated by the U.S.
The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and seeks compensatory damages for nine American and Israeli victims of the October 7th attack. These victims include survivors, family members, and civilians who remain displaced due to the ongoing conflict.
According to Scott J. Bornstein, senior vice president of Greenberg Traurig, America has witnessed a disturbing rise in anti-Semitism, verbal and physical threats against Jewish individuals, vandalism, blockades, economic disruption, illegal encampments, and rampant takeovers of academic buildings since October 7th. Particularly disconcerting is that these actions appear to be largely directed by Hamas and its aforementioned collaborators.
