The long-established presence of Biglaw firms continues to grow in Texas with the opening of a new Dallas office by Willkie Farr & Gallagher. These household names have been moulding the Texan legal landscape for over a decade, but the establishment of their fifteenth international outpost in Dallas brings fresh energy to the region.
Willkie Farr & Gallagher, a top player in the legal industry with a reported $1,500,000,000 gross income in 2023, is embarking on this new venture with three private equity partners from Haynes and Boone. In total, seven partners will initially staff the Dallas office, including four private equity partners relocated from Willkie’s Houston office.
As reported by the American Lawyer, Willkie Chairman Thomas Cerabino elaborated on the firm’s strategic move. He emphasized that this new expansion within Texas demonstrated the firm’s commitment to the region and its client needs. The Texas platform is designed to concentrate on private equity, M&A and transaction work, straddling both energy and non-energy related sectors.
The firm’s latest establishment in the thriving Texan legal marketplace expects to mirror the success of its predecessors.
