Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP has announced the addition of Adam Cohen and Mark Chorazak as partners and co-heads of the firm’s financial institutions regulatory group. Cohen and Chorazak will be based in the firm’s Washington, D.C., and New York offices, respectively.
According to Bloomberg Law, the newly appointed co-heads will focus on advising clients on various aspects related to banking. This includes bank regulatory matters, legislative developments, corporate governance, enforcement and compliance issues, and banking-as-a-service arrangements. The role also extends to providing counsel on transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, and equity and debt offerings.
Before joining Skadden, Cohen held the position of General Counsel at SoFi Bank, while Chorazak led the U.S. bank regulatory practice and served as co-chair of the fintech initiative in his previous role.
Through these appointments, Skadden continues its expansion across strategic areas, enlisting experienced figures from the field to guide the firm’s policy and practice approaches to banking and financial services. The aim is to provide optimum counsel to clients and navigate them through the current landscape of financial regulation and transactions.
