Ozempic Plaintiffs’ Leadership Team Expanded: Co-Lead Counsels Appointed in Multidistrict Litigation

Four main contenders were recently appointed co-lead counsels in the Ozempic multidistrict litigation. Having sought after these leadership roles, the newly named co-leads include Parvin Aminolroaya of Seeger Weiss in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey; Jonathan Orent of Motley Rice in Providence, Rhode Island; Paul Pennock of Morgan & Morgan in New York; and Sarah Ruane of Wagstaff & Cartmell in Kansas City, Missouri. These selections were made by the presiding judge, U.S. District Judge Gene Pratter of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

In relation to their appointment, the co-leads expressed their honor in being chosen by Judge Pratter. They acknowledged the significance and the potential influence of the pharmaceutical injury case they are set to lead against the manufacturers of diabetes and weight-loss drugs such as Ozempic and Wegovy. Although the original statement from the new leads mentioned the case being one of the most consequential of its time, it should be noted that the matter is part of a multidistrict litigation process which includes numerous significant legal issues.
