Last week, Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith associate Jeffrey Limmer, 46, was fatally shot in an incident in Houston, Texas. An arrest has been made, and the alleged assailant, Anthony Martin Landry, 57, has been charged with murder. Landry turned himself into police days after the shooting and is currently in custody, yet to put forward a plea.
In the wake of this tragedy, Lewis Brisbois issued a poignant statement about Limmer, declaring that they remain heartbroken and grateful to the law enforcement agencies that worked tirelessly to apprehend the suspect. They went on to describe Limmer as “a hero among us.”
The Am Law 100 firm plans to honor Limmer’s legacy by establishing a scholarship in his name at his alma mater, the South Texas College of Law. In these difficult times, sympathies across the legal profession extend to Jeffrey Limmer’s family, friends, and colleagues.
