Long-absent from public attention following the 2022 collapse of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, key figure Sam Trabucco, has broken his silence. Trabucco emerged after a year and a half to express support for his former colleague, prior to their sentencing. This information was revealed in a piece by Emily Nicolle, whose article is available at Bloomberg Law.
In a public letter of endorsement for Ryan Salame, another ex-FTX executive facing sentencing for his role in the platform’s downfall, Trabucco wrote, “I will be missing the funniest, most passionate, most supportive friend I’ve ever had.” It is important to note that Trabucco himself has not been accused publicly of any wrongdoing.
The letter was part of a package of evidence presented in court filings related to the case. While the details of Salame’s sentencing and its implications remain to be seen, Trabucco’s tangible support certainly casts a new light on the FTX saga.
