BriefCatch Strengthens Leadership Team with Legal Tech Veterans Following $3.5 Million Seed Round

Legal editing software company BriefCatch has bolstered its management team following last year’s successful seed round, bringing three experienced legal tech professionals into key roles. This strategic move comes on the heels of the company’s $3.5 million seed round fundraising effort, which founder and CEO Ross Guberman indicated would be used for team expansion, new product launches, and further development of AI-powered features.

The first new addition is Lydia Flocchini in the role of Chief Marketing Officer. Flocchini, who brings three decades of leadership experience from companies such as Thomson Reuters and Lex Machina, will be tasked with scaling BriefCatch’s go-to-market activities, overseeing branding, messaging, and product marketing among other responsibilities. Her accolades include being named among ILTA’s Influential Women in Legal Tech in 2023.

The second hire, Darren Schleicher, joins as Chief Sales Officer. Schleicher, who spent a decade in sales leadership at Lex Machina, will focus on driving revenue growth and expanding market awareness for BriefCatch. Prior to Lex Machina, Schleicher held several senior sales roles at Thomson Reuters.

Lastly, Kyle Bahr takes on the position of Product Manager of AI and new products. Bahr, formerly the CEO of Sea Change Legal Ops, has extensive experience in developing tech-forward strategies leveraging AI. His role will involve the launch of new AI-enabled products aimed at improving legal professionals’ communication efficiency.

Reflecting on these appointments, Guberman expressed his enthusiasm for the new team members and their potential to address the evolving needs of legal organizations.

In addition to these new hires, BriefCatch has been quite active over the past year, expanding its software to integrate with Microsoft Outlook and launching the product ClientCatch, which automates client alert creation. The company also established a legal writing advisory panel comprising 35 judges, advocates, and academics, and added noted legal writer David Lat to its board.
