Former HP Employee Files Lawsuit Alleging Wrongful Termination Over Criticism of DEI Policies

A former employee of HP Inc. has filed a lawsuit against the multinational information technology company, alleging wrongful termination linked to his criticism of the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Evan Arsenault, who served as a solution architect at HP from November 2021 until March 2023, claims he was unjustly accused of racism and ultimately dismissed for his stance on the firm’s focus on DEI practices.

In the complaint, Arsenault contends that his remarks about the DEI efforts were mischaracterized as “dogpiling” and “racist” by managers, including his direct supervisor, Dean Wicke. The plaintiff asserts that this mischaracterization led to his termination.
